Celebrating Over Two Decades of Hospitality, Heart, and Hard Work
After more than 20 years of gracefully, warmly, and caringly serving guests, Richelle and Wayne Darrell are preparing for a well-deserved retirement. Their time at the retreat center has been marked not just by excellent service but also by the deep sense of community they helped build and the countless lives they touched along the way.

From Summer Camp to the Retreat Center
Richelle’s journey with us began behind the registration desk, where she served as the Summer Camp Registrar. With her signature attention to detail and passion for creating welcoming experiences, she made sure each camper's story started off right. It wasn’t long before her leadership and heart led her into the role of Summer Camp Director, where she truly thrived.
“I really enjoyed working with the summer camp staff and campers,” Richelle shared, reflecting on the many friendships she's formed over the years. That spirit of connection carried over into her work at the retreat center, where she’s been the warm, steady presence ensuring every guest felt at peace the moment they arrived.
Behind the Scenes and Beyond
Wayne has been just as much a part of the Pecometh story. With quiet dedication and tireless effort, he kept the grounds and facilities looking beautiful for his past two years on staff. Whether guests realized it or not, his hard work created the serene, well-kept environment they came to know and love. Together, Richelle and Wayne have been the heart of the retreat center, creating not just a destination but a home away from home.
A Legacy of Love and Service
As their final season with us draws to a close, the outpouring of gratitude has already begun. Longtime visitors and friends are sharing memories, stories, and kind words about the impact the Darrells have had.
“Richelle’s enthusiasm and her ability to create the perfect place for a retreat made every visit special,” one guest shared. “And Wayne’s quiet but constant work behind the scenes made it all feel seamless. It won’t be the same without them.”
Looking Ahead to a New Chapter
Though they’re stepping away from their roles, Richelle and Wayne aren’t going far. They’re looking forward to traveling, spending time with family, and yes, maybe even returning as guests.
“Pecometh has given us so much,” Richelle said. “Now, it’s time for us to embrace a new chapter, knowing the retreat center and camp will continue to thrive.”
Their presence will be deeply missed, but their legacy of love, service, and community will remain woven into the fabric of Pecometh for years to come.
