Share Camp With a New Generation

CC Boys HelmetsNow that I’m a grandfather, I think often about the things I’d like to give my grandson. Camp is definitely on the list. This letter from a grandmother whose grandson came to camp this year reminds me why.“Thank you so much for my grandson’s experience at camp. My son received joint custody last summer. My grandson had never really attended church and he always said, ‘I’m not going to church.’ Well, our first experience was Vacation Bible School, which he loved. But CAMP! He thought it was going to be boring. It was anything but boring. He was focused. Ok I didn’t tell you he gets in trouble at school quite a bit. But the part I liked the best was how he walked up to me after camp holding his Bible in front of him, like a prized possession. He would have stayed another week if he could.

My grandson can be a challenge in school, and he often doesn’t feel like he is accepted. He made friends and had such positive experiences with the children at camp. His stepbrother, now also wants to attend camp. He is another, ‘I don’t think I like church kid.’ Grandmom is changing the narrative. So much love to your counselors and Bible Study teachers.”

This is why we do summer camp. The love of God experienced at camp changes the narrative. Thanks be to God!

Please prayerfully consider making a generous gift to continue our ability to help campers like this come to camp. We are grateful for your support.
