I am delighted to share that a generous donor has committed to donate $1,000,000 over the next four years toward our mortgage on the Riverview Retreat Center. This single gift will save us nearly $1.5 million in interest. The donor has deep personal connections to Pecometh, and like each of us, believes in the outstanding hospitality we provide at Pecometh. They believe this gift will encourage others to support Pecometh’s long term future.
In addition to strengthening our financial position, we have been working to modernize our facilities for the next generation of campers. We consistently see the words “icky washhouses” in our post-camper evaluations.
As part of our Pecometh for Generations Capital Campaign, we are overjoyed to share that construction has begun on two new washhouses, and we plan to have the remaining two completed by next summer.
Dave Hews, Scott Lovelace, Rev. Dr. Yvonne Wallace-Penn, Rev. Jack Shitama, and Augie Lankford at the washhouse groundbreaking in July.
We know and trust that these improvements will continue to help new campers say “yes” to a week of camp because the accommodations will better match their expectations. We anticipate camp registration will continue to grow as a result of the generosity of this campaign.
Please visit the Pecometh for Generations Capital Campaign page for more information and to sign up for campaign updates. We are always happy to share the good news.
In Christ,
Augie Lankford
